Over 940,000 people in the UK are thought to be living with dementia - with someone developing dementia every three minutes. Due to the large amount of cases there are approximately 700,000 people in the UK who are informal carers for a person with dementia. Dementia UK is an incredible charity that supports Admiral Nurses who are specialist dementia nurses that provide life-changing support for families affected by all forms of dementia – including Alzheimer’s disease.

Admiral Nurses help people living with dementia stay independent for longer – and support the people caring for them so that they will have the strength to cope with the bad days, and the energy to enjoy the good days.

Before my Gran passed away in 2019 she sadly suffered with Dementia and I saw first hand the impact this had on my family and the difference that specialist support can make through this horrible time. With raising money for Dementia UK we can fund more Admiral nurses to provide specialist support to those families in need whilst trying to find a cure for this dreadful disease.
