Geschonken van £ 2.250,00I am so pleased that I am running the London Marathon in 2026 with my daughter Kiera, who is 18, to raise money for The Children's Trust. It is such an honour to raise money for such an amazing charity that changes the lives of so many children. I have volunteered at the Children's Trust a number of times and its truly humbling to see the work that they do. It will be a fantastic day. Thank you. Below is some information on this wonderful charity.
Acquired brain injury affects more than one million people in the UK and every year, 40,000 children in the UK are left with a brain injury as a result of an accident or illness. Every mile ran and every penny raised will help us support the children when they need us the most. We are so incredibly grateful to everyone who donates, volunteers or hosts fundraising activities on our behalf - Thank you!
I'll be supporting children like Reuben, who came to The Children’s Trust for rehabilitation after having a stroke at the age of two.
Reuben was a bouncy, chatty little boy, having a bath before bedtime when his mum, Holly, noticed something was wrong. He was rushed to A&E, where his dad, Liam, realised that Reuben didn’t recognise him and asked for a CT scan. At 3.30am it was confirmed: Reuben had had a significant stroke. He stopped talking. He stopped crying. He was unable to move his right side at all.
Three months later, Reuben arrived at The Children’s Trust for specialist rehabilitation. He was given a weekly timetable of intensive therapy, including physiotherapy to help him walk independently, and speech and language therapy to help him communicate. The team motivated Reuben by incorporating activities he enjoyed into his therapy, particularly his love of football! With hard work and determination, Reuben made great progress during his time at The Children’s Trust.
Please support the superstar Squad for 2026 by making a donation and cheering us on, whether that be along the route, or virtually. Every mile ran and every penny raised will help The Children's Trust support children and young people when they need it the most.
