YOUTH IGNITE | Empowering Taiwan's Next Generation 培力台灣弱勢兒少,點亮未來無限希望
by The Mustard Seed Mission 基督教芥菜種會▍Summary
The "Youth Ignite: Empowering Taiwan's Next Generation" project aims to support economically disadvantaged youth in Taiwan. Through comprehensive training programs, we help them build essential skills, boost self-confidence, and develop career paths. The initiative focuses on self-exploration, employment training, skill development, and creative problem-solving, ensuring that these youths can break the cycle of poverty and contribute positively to society.
▍Challenge
Many youths in Taiwan come from single-parent or economically disadvantaged families, facing poverty, low self-esteem, and limited career guidance. Studies show 68% are from single-parent or grandparent-led households, with a 12.36% unemployment rate among those aged 20-24. These challenges result in low academic achievement, poor social skills, and a lack of competitiveness in the job market. Without intervention, these youths are likely to remain trapped in the cycle of poverty.
▍Solution
Our project provides a structured, multi-faceted approach to youth empowerment. Through self-exploration courses, employment training, skill development workshops, and creative problem-solving classes, we equip participants with the necessary tools to improve their self-efficacy, social skills, and job readiness. We also offer continuous support through mentorship and group activities to reinforce their learning and development.
▍Long-Term Impact
By empowering disadvantaged youth with the skills and confidence needed to succeed, our project aims to break the cycle of poverty and create a ripple effect of positive change. Participants will gain the ability to secure stable employment, contribute to their communities, and inspire future generations. This initiative fosters a more inclusive society where every young person has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
